Australian Health Minister Great Hunt has announced that 1,000 soldiers will be sent to Victoria to help fight the outbreak of the Coronavirus.
"We will send 1,000 additional members of the defense forces, who will carry out various tasks. They will be deployed, in addition to the 350 military personnel who are currently there (in Victoria)," the Minister of Health said, in a video message published by the ABC network.
The Minister of Health said that the army will help conduct tests to diagnose HIV infections, and will monitor compliance with the isolation regime.
According to the latest data released by the Ministry of Health, the number of people infected with coronaviruses in Australia was 9797, 108 people died, and 7,728 people recovered.
The state of Victoria is the country hardest hit in Australia by the outbreak of the Coronavirus, with 3,799 cases and 24 deaths.
