Former Liverpool defender Jimmy Carragher said that the absence of defender Virgil van Dyck from the England champions after suffering a knee ligament injury opened the door to the battle for the Premier League title in football and demanded his former team to sign a new defender as a substitute for the injured Dutch player.

Van Dyck will undergo surgery to repair the injury he suffered during his team's 2-2 draw with neighbors Everton last Saturday.

"The big question that arises right now is whether Liverpool can win the Premier League title without Van Dyck. I think the player's absence opens the door to the title struggle wide," Carragher told Sky Sports.

He continued: "With the beginning of the current season, I felt that Liverpool was still the strongest team, but with the absence of Van Dyck, which may extend to the end of the season, the task of Liverpool will become more difficult."

"Liverpool should enter the transfer market in January and the reason is not just Van Dyck's injury. The team is weak in this area anyway after losing Diane Lovren at the start of the season. Other players in these positions are vulnerable to injury," Carragher added.

Cereal and wheat products have long been known for their health-promoting properties such as improving heart health, controlling blood sugar, and keeping weight in check, but the appearance of misleading ads has confused everyone.

Many question whether whole grain products or whole wheat products should be bought, as well as whether there is a significant difference between the two.

The main difference between whole grains and whole wheat is the type of grain used. Both whole grain products and whole wheat contain the three kernel components.

These three components are: the bran, which is the fibrous outer layer of the nucleus, rich in B vitamins and other minerals, and the second is the "embryo", which is part of the nucleus, and rich in a variety of nutrients, such as healthy fats, vitamin E, B vitamins, and antioxidants.

Finally, the endosperm, contains starchy carbohydrates. In most cases, white flour consists of the endosperm.

When using the whole kernel, the manufacturer can legally use the term "whole grain" or "whole wheat" depending on the type of grain used.

The term whole wheat is used exclusively for products, which use only the whole wheat kernel in their products. For example, whole wheat bread will only contain whole wheat flour.

Conversely, whole grains are used when adding other grains to the product, such as amaranth, barley, corn, millet, quinoa, rice, rye, sorghum, teff, triticale and even wheat.

And because wheat is a type of grain, it also falls within the definition of whole grains. Essentially, all whole wheat products are whole grains, but not all whole grain products are whole grains.

Which is better healthy?

Given that both whole grain products and whole wheat contain the whole kernel, they are equally nutritious.

But by looking at the refined flour, the embryo and bran have been removed from it, which removes many nutrients and fiber.

Most of the research indicates the health benefits of grains come from the fiber, healthy fats, and nutrients found within the fetus and the bran of the grain kernel.

For example, a 2019 study of 137,807 people found a significant inverse relationship between wholegrain consumption and weight.

This indicates that wholegrain can aid weight control, likely due to the effects of filling in the fiber.

Several studies have linked a diet rich in whole grains to a lower risk of heart disease, type 2 diabetes, certain types of cancer, and premature death.

In contrast, refined grains, from which the bran and embryo were removed, are not associated with the same health benefits, due to their low nutrient and fiber contents, so try to eat whole grains or whole wheat products whenever possible.

DNA enabled the identification of the killer of a nine-year-old girl, 36 years after her abduction and murder, in a case that shocked Canadians in 1984 and led to the conviction of an innocent man, according to Toronto police.

Investigators said that they discovered the identity of the killer after sending a DNA sample from his semen taken from the girl's underwear to a specialized American laboratory that gave them the name of Calvin Hoover, who died in 2015.

This 28-year-old man at the time of the events committed suicide, according to several media reports, while he was close to the girl's family.

Christine Guessop was kidnapped after leaving her home in Queensville (North Toronto) on October 3, 1984, and then raped and killed by knife stabs near Toronto, and her body was found in a field about 50 km away three months later.

Guy Paul Moran, a neighbor of the victim's family, was arrested in 1985 and sentenced to life in prison. He had always professed his innocence before he was acquitted and released in 2015 based on DNA analyzes.

Guy Paul Moran received $ 1.25 million from the Ontario government, as compensation for this judicial error.

Moran, who was personally advised by Toronto police, expressed satisfaction with his reputation being bleached.

The name of this disease expresses some of its causes and symptoms, and in all cases, it can affect men or women alike. The origin of this name refers to forgetfulness, not the women. It is said that the race or nerve was named by this name because the pain that occurs as a result of its irritation or inflammation makes a person forget anything else due to its extreme severity, while others indicate that the name may have come because the patient overlooks it and forgets to avoid taking some steps to prevent or avoid doing movements or behaviors that may lead to infection or renewed seizures.

According to the WebMed medical website a sciatica patient suffers from back pain caused by a problem with the sciatic nerve, which is a large nerve that runs from the lower back to the lower back of each leg. When the sciatic nerve is injured as a result of compressing or lifting a heavy weight in the wrong way, it can cause pain in the lower back that spreads to the hip, buttocks, and leg. The pain usually affects only one leg and may get worse when sitting, coughing or sneezing. The leg may also feel numbness, weakness or tingling. Sciatica symptoms appear suddenly and can last for days or weeks.

Pregnancy and heavy weights

Most people with sciatica are between the ages of 30 and 50, while women are more likely to develop sciatica during pregnancy due to pressure on the sciatic nerve from the developing uterus. Other causes include heavy lifting, as well as herniated disc problems and osteoarthritis of the spine.

Furthermore, normal vertebral wear can lead to the narrowing of the spinal canal, which creates pressure, called "spinal stenosis," on the roots of the sciatic nerve. Spinal stenosis is most common in adults over the age of 60.

Piriformis syndrome

The piriformis muscle is found deep in the buttock, and it connects the lower spine to the femur and passes directly over the sciatic nerve. If this muscle spasms, it can put pressure on the sciatic nerve, causing symptoms of sciatica. Piriformis syndrome is more common in women.

A fat wallet can trigger piriformis syndrome, and some people may not imagine that their wallet, whenever it is full, can become a source of pain.

But what happens is that some men put their wallet in the back pocket of their trousers. This habit causes chronic pressure on the piriformis muscle and the constant pressure can exacerbate the sciatic nerve over time. This problem can be avoided by keeping your wallet in the front pocket or jacket pocket

Standing for long periods of time

Standing for long periods of time or climbing stairs in an unhealthy manner exacerbates sacroiliitis, an inflammation of one or both sacroiliac joints, the spot where the lower spine connects to the pelvis. Sacroiliitis can cause pain in the buttocks and lower back that may extend down one or both legs.

On the heels or toes

To determine if a patient has sciatica, the doctor asks how and exactly where the pain began, and then asks him to squat, walk on his heels or toes, or raise his leg without bending the knee. Muscle tests can help your doctor determine if the sciatic nerve is irritated or inflamed.

Some cases require an MRI to obtain more information about the location and cause of the irritated nerve. An MRI can show the alignment of intervertebral discs, ligaments, and muscles. A CT scan with a contrast dye can also provide a useful picture of the spinal cord and nerves, which can help determine the cause of sciatica and guide the course of treatment. As for X-ray imaging, it only helps in identifying bone deformities but does not lead to nerve problems.

Home actions

You can take simple steps at home to ease the pain of sciatica. A heating pad or ice pack may be especially helpful. Heat or ice can be applied for 20 minutes every two hours. And it depends on trying which one provides more comfort, or switching between them.

Over-the-counter pain relievers provide short-term relief from sciatica. Acetaminophen and non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs), such as aspirin, ibuprofen, and naproxen are options. Your doctor may prescribe a steroid injection to reduce inflammation.

While sciatica is recovering, the patient must try to remain active, as movement can actually help reduce inflammation and pain. A physical therapist can show the patient how to gently tighten the hamstrings and lower back. Doing tai chi or yoga can help stabilize the affected area and strengthen the core. But depending on the medical condition, the patient may not be advised to take some exercises, so a doctor should be consulted before any steps, who may only recommend walking for short distances.

Injections and surgeries

In severe cases, the doctor has to inject steroids into the area of the spine to reduce inflammation, so that the drug is delivered directly to the area around the sciatic nerve. But if the sciatica injury is caused by a herniated disc and is still causing severe pain after four to six weeks, then surgery is likely to be a suitable option, as about 90% of patients get relief from this type of surgery. Surgery may also be used in cases of sciatica caused by "spinal stenosis."

Actions not to be forgotten

As stated in the WebMed website if a person has previously had sciatica only once, there is a chance that they will have the infection and seizures again. But there are steps that should not be forgotten that you can take to reduce the odds:

Exercising regularly.

Maintaining standing, sitting and sleeping positions

Bending the knees when lifting any heavy weights.

Remembering these steps can help avoid back injuries that may lead to renewed sciatica episodes.

Paris Saint-Germain won a quarter without a response to its host Nimes, who completed the match with ten players, including a double by Kylian Mbappe, to take the defending champion to the top of the Ligue 1 league for football before facing Manchester United at the start of his Champions League campaign.

Mbappe opened the scoring before the break and joined Alessandro Florenti and Pablo Sarabia in scoring three goals in the last 12 minutes, to lift Saint Germain's tally to 15 points from seven games.

Saint-Germain are on goal difference at the top of Stade Rennes, who drew 1-1 with bottom-ranked Dijon.

Nim, who is 13th with eight points, played 10 men after 12 minutes after Loic Landry received a red card.

Saint-Germain lost the efforts of Leandro Paredes, who replaced Ander Herrera, due to a thigh injury before Landry was sent off for a violent intervention on Ravinia.

Mbappe broke the deadlock in the 32nd minute, but Saint-Germain missed Neymar's creative touch after the coach rested him after his return from national duty with Brazil.

But Nimes did not pose any danger to his opponent, and although Saint-Germain missed Marquinhos, Angel Di Maria's efforts to stop, Marco Verratti and Juan Bernat injured, he dominated the match.

Italian international Florenti, on loan from Roma, doubled the lead in the 78th minute with a header before Mbappe hit the net again five minutes later after a wonderful work from Sarabia.

The Spaniard completed the quartet two minutes before the end after Italian Moise Keane, on loan from Everton, hit the crossbar with a header in his first game for St. Germain.

Earlier, Martin Terrier put Stade Rennes ahead midway through the first half before Mama Bald equalized after the break.

Thierer scored Rennes' goal with a low shot in the 24th minute, as the visiting team sank early.

But Balad just scored nine minutes into the second half with a right-footed shot from inside the area.

Rennes, who will kick off his Champions League campaign against Krasnodar on Tuesday, came close to clinching the match in his favor and collecting the three points six minutes before the end, but Flavian Tate's shot hit the crossbar.

Dijon remained at the bottom of the standings with two points.

An "unprecedented" deficit in the US budget

The US government announced that the budget deficit for 2020 rose by 218 percent, to a record high of $ 3.1 trillion in the fiscal year ending on September 30, due to the massive spending to combat the consequences of the Covid-19 pandemic.

This figure exceeds twice the previous record for deficit, which reached 1.4 trillion dollars in 2009 during the global financial crisis.

With enhanced spending and declining tax revenues due to business closures after the outbreak of COVID-19, the US Treasury Department said that total government debt rose to $ 26.9 trillion, more than the size of the economy, which shrank in the second quarter of the year to less than $ 20 trillion. .

The fiscal deficit under President Donald Trump was rising even before the pandemic crisis, and it reached a trillion dollars for the first time since 2012, following the massive tax cut approved in late 2017.

Administration officials defended the numbers in the budget, praising Trump for his swift action to provide subsidies to alleviate the economic repercussions for American companies and families.

"Under President Trump's leadership, the economy has started an amazing recovery," US Treasury Secretary Stephen Mnuchin and White House Budget Director Russell Vogt said in a joint statement.

"The administration remains fully committed to supporting American workers, families and companies, and to ensuring our continued robust economic recovery," Mnuchin added.

Over a period of weeks, Trump's team held talks with Democratic Party leaders in the US Congress about a new package of funds to support businesses and families, to be added to the nearly $ 3 trillion released at the start of the outbreak.

Officials stress that it will be difficult to reach an agreement before the presidential elections scheduled for the third of November, or the distribution of funds, even if there is an agreement.

Federal government spending rose 47 percent in the fiscal year to $ 6,500 billion.
